ABOUT ME

117607228_3630049647025161_9040358347869

Ever since I  was a child, I’ve always enjoyed engrossing myself in stories and games which made me physically feel emotion. Eventually, that grew in my heart into a want to create; I just love to play around with different software and see what manifests.

My favourite games are usually story-based RPGs like Shin Megami Tensei, or adventure games like 9 Persons, 9 Doors, 9 Hours. I really love Japanese games because of just how different the culture, world-building, and storytelling methodology is (especially in horror!).

Current Projects: Spellsword, House of the Dead Recharged

Current Shows: The Apprentice

Current Games: Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice

Below I'll talk about all the different things I've learned!

CREATIVE

I have a lot of experience creating and pitching Game Design Documents to express my ideas. One example of this is my game idea which resulted in a nomination for the 2019 Young Game Designers BAFTA Award. I have participated in Game Jams and Ideation Sessions at conventions and game companies.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

I started as an 18-year old working as a Software QA Tester at PlayStation! This then lead me to my job WWS Functional QA tester at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe working on the DLC of my first credited title - Blood and Truth. I then worked part time as a QA Tester at Sumo Digital on a completely new IP (Hood: Outlaws & Legends) from it's early stages.

With two years under my belt as a QA tester, I moved onto a position as a Level Designer for an indie company called Atomicom. This is my current position and has been a very interesting !

PROGRAMMING

During Sixth Form, I completed an AQA Diploma in Scripting and Programming. This course allowed me to learn the core principles of computer science, software development and production. I studied web development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScipt and jQuery, mobile app development using Xamarin Android for Visual Studio and C#, SQL for database structures, and software development life cycle methodologies such as AGILE and Waterfall. Furthermore, in Level 3 BTEC Games Design, I used C# in Unity to create a number of games.

In University, I have taught myself Unreal Engine 4 blueprints. I began with learning the core concepts and have now moved onto learning how to create Artificial Intelligence using Blackboards, and creating Advanced Materials.

LEADERSHIP

Through my life, I’ve always tended to be the leader in different teams and projects due to having ambitious and innovative ideas as well as the empathy to understand others. I have studied project management methodologies and am proficient in AGILE and SCRUM. I also have experience using Excel, Microsoft Project, GitHub, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.

During my time on the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh, the National Citizen’s Service, and the Atlantic School for Young Leaders, I developed a lot of essential team management skills which are crucial when working in a team.

In my personal projects, I have managed to support my peers to create innovative concepts. One of the best ways I've found to help people is to flip around their pre-conceived ideas of genres and tropes. Also, I have experience tutoring and running workshops to teach Unity, UE4, Programming in Visual Studio, and using AGILE.

MEDIA

I’ve had the pleasure of being able to speak with the media about what I do, so here are some articles I’ve been featured in!!
